Active Directory (AD) is a system that manages how you log into MyMassmart and Builders Connect. It’s part of a security upgrade required by Walmart to better protect our systems and your data. With AD, you’ll have a single username and password for secure access.

No, the system now requires Active Directory credentials for secure access.
If you have received AD credentials via SMS, you are an AD user. If you are unsure, try logging in with your known credentials. If that doesn’t work, contact your line or admin manager, or call the Service Desk Call Centre on 087 351 7100 for confirmation.
If you’re part of the initial batch of users, you’ll receive your AD credentials via an SMS sent to your registered cellphone number. If you don’t get them this way, you’ll need to follow a self-service process to request your credentials.
Before the implementation of AD in March 2025, it’s crucial to update your personal details, especially your cellphone number, on MyMassmart or Builders Connect. This ensures you receive your AD credentials and any important communications regarding the transition. Please take a moment to log in and check your information!

If you don’t have a cellphone number on file, you’ll need to update your contact details on MyHR or VIP. This can be done through your People Partner to update your details on our system.
If you didn’t get your AD credentials:
  • Use the self-service link to request your AD credentials.
  • If that doesn’t work, ask your Line or Admin Manager for help - they can log the request on your behalf for your AD credentials.
  • Otherwise, you can call the Helpdesk for assistance.
Yes, if you’re using the self-service option for the first time, you’ll need to be on the Massmart network to register. This ensures your credentials are set up securely.
Don’t worry! You have two options:
  • Use the self-service option to reset your password or unlock your account.
  • If self-service isn’t an option, contact the Helpdesk, and they’ll log a ticket to help you reset your password.
If you don’t know your AD username, speak to your Line or Admin Manager. They can retrieve it for you.
AD accounts that aren’t used for 60 days will be deactivated automatically. If this happens, you’ll need to log a ticket via ServiceNow to reactivate your account.
